Referrals and Rebates
Eligible patients can receive rebates from Medicare when you have a referral from your GP. You can obtain a referral by making an appointment with your GP and completing a ‘Mental Health Care Plan’. Each of these referrals can be for up to 6 sessions; with a maximum of 10 claimable sessions per calendar year (as long as sufficient referrals are provided). The clinic will need a copy of your referral in order to process your Medicare rebate.
Many private health insurance companies also provide rebates for individual and couples therapy. Please check with your insurance provider and inform us in advance of you appointment if you intend to claim through a health fund.
We also provide services under the Transport Accident Commission, Victims of Crime, WorkCover, NDIS and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
No referral is required for appointments with counsellors.
