She has worked extensively with people from various cultural backgrounds, and in rural and remote regions of Australia. Tabitha has worked within the settings of mental health, drug and alcohol, private practice, and with young people and adults within an educational setting. She also has specialist experience with vocational/careers counselling.
Tabitha applies therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy, interpersonal therapy, solution focused therapy and client centred therapy. Therapeutic intervention is tailored to suit the requirements of each unique person, suiting their individual needs and goals, and drawing on their perspectives, strengths and supports within their community and personal context.
When working with Christian clients, Tabitha provides a therapeutic approach that combines their faith with therapeutic intervention. She believes that when a person has a Christian faith, it is important to integrate biblical perspectives into their psychological recovery, as one cannot be separated from the other. Tabitha endeavours to build rapport with clients, believing this is essential to treatment outcomes, always aiming to create a safe, caring and trusting setting.
